Mongolian art history
"From animal serving as symbol for Nomadic tribes, religion and war, Mongolian art has its origins rooted for thousands of years. The first human beings who inhabitated what today is in Mongolia, left behind many great examples of pre-historic artistic works. Later on, the Huns developed sophisticated artistic artifacts that were found in their burial sites.

The arrival of Mahayana Buddhism in during 1st- 2nd century AD brought new perspectives for Mongolian art, which from that moment onwards many religious artworks were produced. In the 8th Century AD, the Uigurs reinforced the influence of Buddhism in development of Mongolian culture by spreading their religion through establishing temples all over the territory.

With the formation of merge of Mongolian Nomadic tribes and the forming of the Mongolian Empire in the first centuries of the second millennia, Mongolian art received influence from the various protectorate states which were under Great Mongolian Empire rule.

During 20th century, Mongolian art was influenced by Communism that enrooted in the country with the revolution of 1930s, defining the latest phase of Mongolian art representation before the current phase of modern and contemporary art.
